Let me Introduce Singapore Mint Lunar Coin

1st. Not many have heard or even seen one because mintage is so low that even locals can't get it.

2nd. Because mintage is low, people outside of Singapore doesn't sees it so no demand.

Personally I think these coins, esp, their lunar series are nicer than australian lunar. About the same price as a Gold Maple 1oz. pls have a look:

Thank you for the kind feedback.

As I've mentioned the mintage is very low, usually by march every year (Chinese New Year), all are sold but at a very expensive price around 50% above spot. Occasionally some may surface in local auction scene such as http://sg.auctions.yahoo.com/

selling at maybe 10% above spot. try searching for " lunar gold coin" "gold coin"

This is the site of the mint:

This is the link to this year's DOG gold coin.

Notice the picture is different design because currently is the 3rd series. Every 12 years a new series is launched. But notice also the face value has drop to S$100. The retail price is S$1399. When it was launch Jan this year, a gold maple was selling for less than S$1000.

My ABC kilo? bought thru a local coin shop. at a premium though. If I were to visit Australia, I will definitely drop by ABC and grab a couple of bars back home!

Simply love the feel man!

And this is the 1st series. Another different set of design. But notice the face value : S$500 ! Legal tender. It was sold for S$888 in 1991 and it is only 0.5 oz 999 gold!

I prefer 2nd series over 1st series.

Those are some really ugly coins. They look like ass, IMO.

The Austrailian lunar coins look only about 100 times nicer than those. And are infinately more recognizable. I wouldn't buy those if they sold for under spot.

Those things look like the gold-foil wrapped bubble gum coins that denmark produces :hahaha:

Im eating a whole bunch of red hoop cheddar cheese i got from the grocery store. It is very good.

You can't beat the face value though... and the good pricing.
